April Shenee Brown

On April 5, 1965, Hazel and William Brown were blessed with another beautiful baby girl. Terry and Donia had a baby sister: they named her April Shenee. April was a lovely child, filled with love and glow of sunshine! She was raised, educated, and attended church in the community of Edmondson Village on the West Side of Baltimore City. April attended a secondary school in the City where she acquired skills as a business secretary and in customer service.In 1992, April Brown and Joseph Fox II became the proud parents of a baby boy who they named Joseph (Little Joe) Fox III. April raised her son with the same love and affection she received as a child. In 2002, April opened her heart and home to her niece, Jewels King, and raised her as her daughter, Joe’s little sister. Last year, April ended her professional career with Burlington Coat Factory so she could care for her ailing Father and be at home with her children.Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind, but now I see. Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail and mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, a life of joy and peace.Last Saturday, one week ago today, April told her Mother that she was tired and going to bed early. While she was sleeping, God called her. She didn’t wake up to call her Mother as she had been requested. Instead she answered God’s call and on Sunday, June 27th resting and embraced in God’s love and sunshine, April quietly entered into His Kingdom.She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Hazel and William Brown; her son, Little Joe, his father, Joseph Fox II, and her niece/daughter, Jewels King, April’s three sisters, Terry P. Brown, Donia L. Brown, Tisha King, and her brother-in-law, Walter King, all of Baltimore, Maryland will surly miss, cherish and share memories of their sister. Her Aunt Zollie (Miss Bernie) Woodson, of Baltimore and Aunt Doris and Uncle Harold Walker of Upper Marlboro, MD have a broken heart and memories of love and kindness bestowed upon them from their niece. April’s big heart filled with love and kindness will be missed by her nieces and nephews Alexis, Demetrice, Michael Jr., Edgar, Destiny, Corey, Brittany and Cecil Jr. Her cousins Joan, deRaye, William and Cinque miss her gentle spirit and kind heart. Also to cherish her memory are extended family members: brothers, William Jr., Harrison and Richard Brown; sisters, Kathleen and Patricia Brown, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. April is now walking with God and her brother Cecil, sister, Carolyn, uncles, Don and James, her grandparents, John and Johnsie Hargrave and her paternal grandmother Sarah Brown who preceded her in death. Also missing April today with a broken heart is her long time family friends Pat Willis and her mother Ms. Gloria Samuel. Their love for April is compatible with the love of a sister and a daughter. The family is most appreciative to them for their love, support and encouragement to April, Little Joe and Jewels. April’s kind and gentle spirit will be missed by a host of relatives not mentioned and so many friends.Hazel and William Brown wish to thank each of you for your Prayers, words of comfort, love and kindness shown during this time of dark clouds.
