Mrs. Anna Louise Parker

Mrs. Anna Louise Evans Parker, age 94, peacefully transitioned on March 19, 2026, in Baltimore, MD, where she was a lifelong resident. Born on May 31, 1931, in Plainfield, New Jersey (Muhlenberg Hospital) she was the beloved daughter of Paul and Ruth (Monroe) Evans, Sr. From an early age, she demonstrated a strong sense of purpose, compassion, and dedication to others — qualities that would define her life’s journey. She received her education in the school systems in Plainfield, New Jersey, graduating from Plainfield High School. Anna, also affectionately known as Ann, went on to study nursing at Harlem Hospital. She is also a graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Anna established a distinguished career in the healthcare field and was a trailblazer as the first woman of color to serve as the head nurse in the ER unit at Muhlenberg Hospital, the same hospital where she was born. Additionally, she held a very proud and long-serving career as a public health administrator with the City of Baltimore. Anna also provided her skills and expertise as a nurse with Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Nursing had always been her lifelong love and passion, and a calling she was extremely proud of. Her sister Jeanie recalled that Anna would always share that she was a nurse, with just about everyone she would meet! Even in her pastime, Anna would spend numerous hours researching and remaining abreast of medical advancements and was keenly knowledgeable of current studies published within industry standards, such as the New England Society of Medicine. Through her profession, which was much more of a calling, she touched countless lives, offering care, comfort, and professionalism with grace and integrity. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she was deeply engaged in her community. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., where her most recent affiliation was with the Epsilon Omega Chapter in Baltimore. Anna was also a longtime member of the Baltimore Chapter of the Continental Societies, Inc., where she was initiated in 1978. A plethora of public service and social organizations filled her calendar, and she was never one to miss an occasion of distinction, where she contributed her time, leadership, and unwavering commitment. Her involvement reflected not only her passion for helping others, but also her belief in the importance of community and connection. Friends and loved ones can attest to the fact that nothing was going to keep her from remaining on the go! Anna was determined to maintain her independence and continued driving herself to events, even leading up to her recent health challenges. Anna was united in marriage to Warren Parker, who preceded her in death. Their longtime union was one of love, partnership, and shared values. Together, they were known for their lifelong goodwill and philanthropy throughout the Baltimore community. Those who knew her will remember her for her elegance, generosity, wisdom, beauty, and impeccable taste for fashion. She carried herself with dignity and lived a very full life marked by resilience, faith, and quiet strength. Her legacy is one of service. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents (Paul Evans Sr. and Ruth Monroe Evans), her siblings Ruth “Sissy” Evans Granger (Plainfield, N.J), William “Billy” Evans, Sr. (Ellicott City, MD), and Paul “Spyder” Evans Jr., (Las Vegas, NV). She leaves to cherish her memory of her beloved sister, Jean P. Evans, New York, NY and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Her life was a testament to the power of grace, perseverance, and selfless service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
