Alice Marie Davis

Alice Marie Davis was born in Richmond, Virginia to the late Willie and Lena M. Davis on April 26, 1958. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy N. Davis, Jr.; sister, Frances Terry and a brother, Willie D. Davis. Alice was educated in the Richmond Public School System and attended John F. Kennedy High School. Her parents reared her in a wonderful Christian environment and she accepted Christ in her life at an early age. They instilled in her to love everyone. She was a stay at-home mom. In spite of her disability, she remained steadfast with her spiritual journey by reading her Bible and believing in the word. She knew that her Savior was in her heart and did not worry about her life circumstances. Her strength and encouragement for living life has left a hugh mark on a lot of people. Just the fact that her determination in itself meant a lot, has given hope to others. Being if Alice could make it with out complaining, then they could as well. She appreciated anything that was done for her, such as someone bringing her a soda would meant so much. Alice’s open home hospitality served as a way for others to feel loved. Her gentle, kind spirit compelled her to embrace the needs of others, especially the loyalty, care and compassion she exemplified to her family and friends. She adored her grandchildren and stressed the importance of getting a good education. Alice truly loved playing cards and enjoying the family fellowship. She also spent much time putting puzzles together, coloring and shopping. Alice transitioned to her new life and was called home to the heavenly pearly gates to be with her Lord and Savior on June 13, 2016. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Brandy N. Davis, Albert O. Davis and Michael Davis; three grandchildren, Albert O. Davis Jr., Tyler Davis, and Kynnadee Davis; sisters, Loucressa James and Zadie Davis; brothers, Lee Edwards, Lawrence (Pat) Thompson, and Earl (Juanita) Thompson; aunt, Julia Davis; devoted niece, Sonya Terry; a host of other relatives and friends; three very special friends, Carolyn Meeks, Yvonne Taylor (Pebbles) and Vance Walker.
