Adikie Jean Davidson

Adikie "Dikie" Davidson-Mosby departed this life suddenly as a result of a car accident in Finksburg, Maryland on April 9, 2018, at the age of 36 years old. Adikie, affectionately called, "Dee" by many and "Doodle Bug" by her Poppie, is survived by her loving parents, Mitchell (Poppie) and Donna Davidson; children, Jared Smith and Jordan Mosby; siblings, Mitchell Davidson II, Talisha Davidson, Marcia Davidson, and lifelong friend/sister Tamara Henry; grandparents, Valerie Davidson, John and Ann Hanna; nieces, Michelle, Malia, "Chubs" and Jaelynn; and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles. Adikie Jean Davidson-Mosby was born on June 23, 1981 in Baltimore, Maryland to Mitchell and Donna Davidson. She graduated from Centennial High School with a Certificate of Merit, in 1999. In 2005, Adikie received her BS and Master of Special Education degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park. While at college Adikie began working with children with autism as an Applied Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification in 2012 and her Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) certification in 2014. Adikie had a profound and everlasting effect on many people in both her professional and personal life. She is the mother of two, Jared and Jordan who she greatly loved and always esteemed as her main purpose for living. She was a generous and dedicated individual who constantly gave of herself and her gifts to others. Anointed with empathy and compassion, she was intentional about changing the world. " Moving beyond the spectrum and into bright futures" Adikie believed that every child especially those with autism, could flourish in this world and rise above stereotypes; Her belief fueled her pursuit of teaching children with special needs and later opening her own business. She often worked tirelessly to ensure her students and their families received services to help them live their best life. In 2014, Adikie co-founded Advancing Beyond the Spectrum LLC; taking on the role of Clinical Director, Adikie was a beacon and light, who will forever shine in our lives. She will be greatly missed yet certainly never forgotten.
