    Ms. Windell Whiten

    September 13, 1950 - August 8, 2021

    Windell C. Whiten, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Solomon was born on September 13, 1950 in Halifax County, North Carolina. She departed this life on August 8. 2021. Windell received her education through the Baltimore City Public Schools System. She later met and married the love of her life, Charles Whiten. She held various jobs but retired from Augsburg Lutheran Assistant Living Home several years ago. Windell loved spending quality time with her family and friends, entertaining. She was the backbone for not only family but friends. Always willing to give a helping hand, Wendell always had her door to whoever needed a place to stay. Windell was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Whiten; a special friend, James (Sam) McDowell; one son, Thomas Roots; four sisters, Abby Washington, Vivian Solomon, Gina Gray, and Annette Solomon; two brothers, Norman Solomon and George Solomon. She leaves to cherish her memory; two sisters, Celestine O'Neal (Bill) and Evelyn Gibson; one brother, Gerald Solomon (Betty); one sister-in-law, Theresa Solomon; four grandchildren, Thomas Ricquel, Jazmyn, and Aurelia Roots; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
