June 24, 1947 - April 30, 2021
On April 30, 2021 our beloved William Clifton Timms entered into eternal life. He was born in Sussex County, Virginia to the late Nannie Bell Peters and Willie Timms. William, best known as “Tim” or “Cliff” received his formal education in the Richmond Public School System. He later furthered his education and attended J. Sargent Reynolds where he later earned his Associate Degree in Business Administration. At the age of 35 he earned his barber’s license and was a barber for 30+ years and a long time business owner. Cutting hair was his passion. When he wasn’t cutting hair he loved taking mini trips with his kids, grandchildren and friends. He received his spiritual blessings as he attended Trinity Baptist Church. His life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesian 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” He was an amazing man of God and to his family, as well. Sunday’s were off limits, especially if the Washington Redskins were involved! He was loving and a go-getter; he never gave up! He will be greatly be missed by all who loved him. During the holidays, he cherished moments with his family. Often he would have family dinners at his house as he loved cooking up a storm and bringing out all of the best pies (the grandkids favorite part; as you could imagine). He was famous for his turkey wings which were also a topic of discussion. Everyone always asked about them and wanted the recipe. Dad always found a way to bring us together; he was the strength of the family. As a matter of fact, Dad shared his birthdate with his daughter, Patricia. William leaves to cherish loving memory to his two caring daughters, Willnett Timms and Patricia Johnson, three grandchildren Di’Nysti Robinson, Aariyah Johnson and Kyan Mayfield, one uncle; Ben Peters (Helen); a dear sister/cousin Lucy Peters-Braxton; a host of other relatives and friends. So, we say, rest in peace, dear dad. You have done exceptionally well. You assisted many and asked for nothing in return. Your kind deeds demonstrated true Christian virtue. Sadly, our beloved gained his wings and departed this life on Friday, April 30, 2021 leaving a legacy to honor.
