Willie Mae Terry
June 14, 1953 - January 6, 2022
Some people only walk this Earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. With only a moment you stayed, but what an imprint your footprints have left on our hearts. Mae joined her heavenly family and gained her wings on January 6, 2022. WILLIE MAE TERRY, daughter to the late Willie Robert Cherry and Annie Louise Simons, was born on June 14, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her education at Edmondson High School in Baltimore. At the age of eighteen, she became employed with the Office of Personnel Management/United States Federal Government, from which she retired in the summer of 2011 after over 40 years of service. Mae was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother to her beloved family and will be sincerely missed. She enjoyed spending time with family, laughing and reminiscing about the good ole days. She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Melvin Terry, Charese N. Smith and Derrick Smith; four siblings, Ethel Johnson, Mary Butler, Robert Cherry and Christine Cherry-Valines; two brothers-in-law, Larry Valines and Donald Johnson; seven grandchildren, Phillip Pierce, Melvin J. Terry, Brenton Pullen Jr., Bryaun Pullen, Breasia Chestnut, Cameron Terry and Darius Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Phillip Jr., Kayden, Maliyah, Kyle, Bryaun Jr., Brenton III, Brayden and Brooklyn; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. IF ROSES GROW IN HEAVEN If roses grown in Heaven, please pick a bunch for me, Place them in Mae’s arms and tell her they’re from me; Tell her that we love and miss her, and when she turns to smile, Place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. Because remembering her is easy, I do it everyday, But there’s an ache within our heart that will never go away. With Love, Your Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN Those special memories of you, will always bring a smile, If only I could have you back for just a little while; Then we could sit and talk again, just like we used to do, You always meant so very much and always will too. The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain, But you’re forever in our hearts until we meet again. With Love, Your Children Melvin, Charese and Derrick
