    Walter Edward Allen

    June 21, 1929 - September 29, 2021

Walter E. Allen, age 92, of Baltimore, Maryland, left his body and went peacefully with his Lord and Savior, on September 29, 2021. He was pre-deceased by his beloved first wife of 52 years, Theresa Ann Allen (nee: Dixon). He is survived by his second wife, Elouise Cropper Allen. He was the loving father of Martin Allen of Woodbridge, VA, Carolyn Allen Jefferson of Wayne, NJ, Kenneth Allen of Seattle, WA and Predeceased by daughter Thelma Brown. Walter was born to the late Lynwood Allen and Mamie Allen, in Accomac, VA. He was lovingly raised by the late “Mama” Laura Allen in Stockton, MD. He was the brother of the late Sylvester Allen, Sr., and the late Geneva Allen Finney. He was the loving grandfather to seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He served his country honorably from 1951 to 1956 as a soldier in the US Army. He was a 30-plus year employee of the now defunct Bethlehem Steel Company in Sparrows Point, MD. He also worked part time as an auto mechanic at Sears, Roebuck and Co. Not one to forget his humble beginnings, Walter enjoyed spending time at his little home “down the country” in Stockton, MD. He was an avid MD State Lottery fan and occasionally enjoyed time at the Atlantic City casinos. He enjoyed watching old western on tv and listening to gospel music. Sitting at a table with family cracking, picking and eating steamed Chesapeake Bay blue crabs was another favorite pastime. Walter developed many close and lifelong relationships with an extended circle of family and friends. He will be remembered for his strong faith and trust in the Lord in all circumstances.
