Legacy of Love Virginia Lee Pettaway, 74, affectionately known as Lil Sis, was called home to eternal glory to live with the Lord Jesus Christ on the peaceful morning of Thursday, February 17, 2022. Virginia was born in Warrenton, NC on October 16, 1947, to the late James E. and Pandora Harrison. She was baptized and accepted Christ at a very young age. She attended Armstrong High School and was employed by VCU Health Systems in the housekeeping department for thirty-seven years. Lil Sis loved to cook and was very giving. She was known by family and friends as a feisty and no-nonsense person. She was also known for her stylish looks and a smile that lit up the room. Taking her morning strolls to buy scratch offs was one of her favorite things to do. She was a huge fan of Tyler Perry movies and loved plants. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virgie Lee Moss and brother, Henry Lee Mosby. Left to cherish her memories are her two beautiful children, Barbara Carter (David) and Mario Pettaway; three grandchildren, Chameika Green, Breonna Green, and Ashley Carter; five great grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Morton, Panthea Harrison, Darlene Harrison, Rebecca Clark (Alex), Nora Hargrove (Joe); four brothers, James Harrison (Suragene), Marcella Harrison, Richard Lee Harrison (Christine), Wallace Harrison; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
