We watched you slowly pass away We prayed so hard for you to stay But now we realize that God knows best So He called you from suffering, so you may rest. A Time to Be Born...October 9, 1926,the twelfth of fourteen children was born to the late Thomas and Alice Holmes of Henrico, County Virginia. "Vee Lynette," as she was lovingly named, entered into the world. A Time to Learn...Veora was educated in the Henrico County Public School System and graduated from Virginia Randolph High School. Veora also attained a certification in Cosmetology. She advanced her education at Virginia Union University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree and was certified by Virginia Commonwealth University to teach in Early Childhood Education. A Time to Love...Veora was married to the late Wythe C Waller for 52 years. From their union,they were blessed with giving birth to Wythe,Jr. A Time for Church...Veora joined St.James Baptist Church in 1936,and has remained a faithful member ever since. She worked as a Sunday School teacher,as a member of the music ministry, and served on the Deaconess Board. A Time to Work...Veora worked in tabacco factories and as a beautician before entering the field of education. After 20 years of dedicated service,Veora returned from the labor and service fields to pursue her dreams. For 12 more years,she dedicated her working life to the Child Development Center, and outreach program of St. James Baptist Church. After her second retirement,Veora based in the joy of spending time with her family,chatting on the phone,and socializing with close friends. A Time to Rest...To know her ,was to love her. On April 28,2022,Veora received the call to rest from her earthly toil. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wythe C. Waller,Sr.; parents Thomas and Alice Holmes;five brothers and seven sisters. She is survived by a beloved and devoted son,Wythe C. Waller, Jr., one sister, Ethel Easter; three adored granddaughters, Stephine, Vonzelle and Sybil (Hector); three great grandchildren; a devoted grandniece, Denise Dye (DeeDee); devoted friends,Reverend Dr. James Daniely,Bruce Washington and Charlette Wilson.
