Velda R. Jones

June 1, 1960 - April 17, 2022

VELDA R. JONES was born June 1, 1960 to Roosevelt and Betty Chisolm. She was called home to receive her wings and eternal happiness on April 17, 2022. She attended Baltimore City Schools and met the love of her life, which was definitely love at first sight, and ultimately graduated from Patterson High School. She then gave birth to her two oldest children. Velda went on to receive her certification in Early Childhood Development. She then began foster care. Family was her pride and joy and a priority. She wanted to share the love she had inside with those in need. Her guilty pleasure was shopping, decorating and re-decorating her home, which was open to EVERYONE! It’s five the hard way. Velda had three sisters and one brother with whom she was extremely close. One who preceded them in passing over, Arniese Benson. They all were, and still are, each other’s best friend. During her time of illness she still displayed grace, poise, endurance and strength. She will be truly missed but highly celebrated by those she left behind to keep her love alive: her husband of 47 years, Vance Sr.; two sisters, Bonita and Lisa; brother, Roosevelt Jr.; ten children, seven grandchildren, and an abundance of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. t
