    Thomasina S. Royster-Diatta

    August 4, 1969 - February 20, 2022

Thomasina Sabrina Royster- Diatta was born in Baltimore, Maryland on Monday, August 4, 1969, to the late Joyce Kelly Royster and Thomas Lee Royster. On February 20, 2022, our beloved, Thomasina, affectionately known as "Mondie", transitioned from this life, at age 52, with her children by her side. Without a doubt, Mondie received her nickname from her mother simply because she was born on Monday. She was the youngest of seven children. She received her education from the Baltimore City Public School System. On November 27, 2012, she married Papa "Jean" Diatta. Mondie was a very family-oriented person. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and siblings. She loved being an ear to anyone who was in need. You could call her at any hour, and she would answer to help you with your problems. She didn't mind being a shoulder for others to lean on and she always was lending a helping hand. Her motto was "if I have it, then you got it". In her free time, she loved to cook meals for her children and grandkids. Her most cherished dishes were smothered turkey wings and pot roast. If she wasn't cooking, then she was out eating with her close family and friends. She took pride in keeping her hair, nails, and eyelashes done. She loved watching TV programs and about forensics and nature. Mondie wiil be remembered for her animated and out-going personality, her kind-hearted spirit and soul, her funny and award-winning comedy, and jokes. She showered everyone she met with love and kindness. However, most of her attention and affection was directed towards her children and grandchildren. She was the true definition of a "diamond in the rough".
