Shirley Marie Carson-Garner

November 7, 1956 - July 15, 2021

SHIRLEY MARIA CARSON-GARNER, daughter of Audrey R. Carson and the late William H. Carson, was born on November 7, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the eldest of five daughters. She departed this life suddenly on July 15, 2021. Shirley received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She later continued her education at Baltimore Community College and received various certifications from State of Maryland. Shirley was a tireless and dedicated worker at various recovery locations. Although she previously worked at a few retail establishments, her training was in recovery. She was a dedicated employee first at the Garwyn Medical Center and then at the Johns Hopkins Broadway Center for Addiction where she was a Peer Support Specialist. Shirley was also a faithful member of the New Psalmist Baptist Church. She married Allan Garner on November 2, 2019. She enjoyed being the step-mother to her step-daughter, Ashley. Shirley made numerous friends wherever she went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her. She had an out-going personality, a love of gospel music, fashion and design. All who visited her home were very impressed with her furniture selection, art décor and their layout. Shirley was a fantastic cook … just ask her brothers-in-law. Trusty; sisters, Sharon Watts (Samuel), Deborah Winslow (Pete), Patsy Price (Martin) and Barbara Carson; one aunt, Gerald Carson; one uncle, Albert Vessells; step-sisters and -brothers, Paulette Ross, the late Edward Trusty Jr., David Trusty, Phillip Trusty (Wanda), Vernida Schaffer (Irvin) and Kenneth Trusty (Valeria); nieces and nephews, Katria Johnson (Timothy), the late Hurley Cross, Donnell Cross, Byron Baldwin (Ebony), Antonio Moore, Mahlah Price and Matthew Price; one step-son, Jarrell Garner (Katrina); one step-daughter, Ashley Garner; one step-grandson, Joshua Garner; and a host of cousins, (especially Charles Vessells), great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
