    Sheila A. Smith

    June 14, 1941 - January 18, 2022

    Sheila Arlene Smith was born on June 14, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Ruby Collins and Ernest Reed. Sheila was educated in the Baltimore City School System and is a graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. For two years, she attended the Nursing program at Baltimore City Community College. Sheila worked as a Nursing Assistant and eventually begun working for the program at Baltimore City Impound Lot from where she retired in 2004. In 1964, Sheila gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, Virginia (Ginger). In 1965, she married William Bernard Smith and to this union two children were born, Sheila (her namesake), and William Jr. (Pee Wee). Sheila loved talking on the phone to her family and especially with her sisters, who she talked to everyday. She enjoyed playing the lottery, going to the casino ad watching movies, specifically Sci-Fi and Westerns. Sheila will be remembered mostly for her laugh and how she made others laugh. On Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Sheila Arlene Smith, transitioned from her physical life to her Heavenly home. At the time of her passing, Sheila was living with her son, William, who affectionately called her “Smoky”. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerome Reed. Sheila leaves to cherish loving memories: her daughters, Virginia (Ginger) Collins, Sheila Macklin (Gregory), and her only son, William “Pee Wee” Smith Jr her sisters, Bernadine White, Ruby Myers, Paulette Jones (Edward), Cynthia Reed Walker, Joan Reed-Fore (Jerimiah), and Meta Reed-Trent: her brothers Vernon Johnson (Acquanetta), Ernest Reed, Jr. David Reed, Joseph Reed (Wendy), and Taylor Reed: two grandsons, Troy Smith, Sr. and Christian Smith; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Smith and Troy Smith, Jr.; two nieces who she was very close to, Valerie White and Angela Myers.; three dear friends, Margaret Riddick, Mary Womack and Alice Easley; a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
