Sandra Denise Brown-Williams
July 14, 1957 - April 26, 2021
SANDRA DENISE BROWN-WILLIAMS, daughter of the late Mary Brown and Ralph Brown, entered the world on July 14, 1957, in Richmond, Virginia. She was a caring wife, supportive mother, loving grandmother, generous sister, and loyal friend. Despite being nicknamed “Skinny” by her father, there was nothing small about her. Sandra’s big personality and warm spirit soothed all those who had the privilege to know her. She was bubbly, smart, determined, and honest. Upon talking to her you’d learn quickly that she loved the Lord, her family, dancing, and playing in makeup. Creating improvised songs and reassuring mantras such as “it’s gonna be alright”, she used her gift of gab to bring inspiration. Her hugs were comforting, and her toothless smile was captivating. Putting faith above her fears, Sandra was a risk taker who found a passionate career nurturing young children as a Senior Staff Child Care Provider. She received formal education from Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University), Frederick Douglass High School, and several other childcare related credentials. Although she calmly transitioned from this world on April 26, 2021, at the age of 63, Sandra was loved by many people who will rejoice about her life from the minute the Lord opened her eyes to the minute He closed them. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 31 years, Michael Williams; children, LaTonya Byrd, LaKeya Williams, LaShawn Williams, LaShawna Williams; grandchildren, Shacara Holmes, Ebony Stack, Wynter Johnson, Khan Johnson; great-grandchild, Ryleigh Davis; siblings, Seneca Brown, Kim Brown, Melissa Brown, Travis Pratt, (the late) Ralph Brown; and numerous other family members and friends.
