    Rosetta Virginia Taylor

    December 28, 1943 - January 21, 2022

Rosetta Virginia Jackson Taylor was born December 28, 1943, in Richmond, Virginia, and departed this life on January 21, 2022. She was born to Ollie and Rosetta Jackson and attended Maggie L. Walker High School where she played the flute and graduated in 1962. Rosetta retired from Bell Atlantic/Verizon after thirty years of service. She used her exceptional mathematical and analytical skills to work her way up from a telephone operator to supervision and management. Rosa was a loving wife and mother figure to her nieces, nephews, and stepdaughter. She was a talented cook and was known for her cakes and pies. Rosa was always supportive and encouraging to her family and friends and willing to lend help to anyone in need. In her youth, she received Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Providence Park Baptist Church in Northside Richmond where she taught Sunday school, served on the usher board, and sang in the choir. She was also a Golden Circle member. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Gene Taylor, stepdaughter Jean Pittman (Marvin), sister Barbara Ann Johnson, brother Robert Jackson, and sisters-in-law Constance, Angeline Taylor, Eleanor Jackson, Geraldine Horne, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great-nieces. Preceding her in death were six siblings, Thomas Jackson, Marion Allen, William Jackson, Luther Jackson, Doris Bagby, and Ollie Jackson, II.
