Rose “Kate” Lee Hill was born August 1, 1963 in Richmond, Virginia. She received her wings and went to her holy home on August 22, 2021. She was a lifelong member of Elohim Christian Outreach Center. Rose had an outgoing personality and a beautiful smile. She had a great sense of humor and found joy in the little things in life. She was generous and was always willing to help. She loved listening to music, completing sudoku, puzzles and reading books and magazines. She loved relaxing and enjoying family time with her husband and children while cuddling in her favorite Redskins Blanket and watching MSNBC News and The HoneyMooners, (her favorite shows). She worked in the insurance industry for over 20 plus years and was very dedicated to her work and had a strong work ethic. She will be missed by her colleagues. Rose married Herman L. Hill, Jr. or (“Honey” as she called him) on May 29, 1986. They enjoyed a blissful and fulfilling marriage of 35 years and had three beautiful children. She is preceded in death by her mother Thelma Richardson (Walter Richardson); brother Wilbert Ellis; father-in-law Herman Hill Sr.; and brother-in-law Pete Hill. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Herman L. Hill Jr.; three children, Sharanda Blakey, Herman L. Hill III (Tiffany Hill) and Ashley Dunn (Calvin Dunn); seven grandchildren, Ziya Woodson, Milton Woodson Jr., Kahmiya Hill, Petehn Hill, Calvin Dunn Jr., Curtis Dunn and Carter Dunn; loving sisters, Tyris Williams (Thurman Williams Jr.) and Elaine Hackett (Leo Hackett Jr.); loving brothers, James Ellis and Leon Ellis; mother-in-law, Drucilla Hill; sisters-in-law, Rena Ellis, Alice Johnson and Margaret Hill-Mack (Andre Mack); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. When a soul that we love takes flight on the wings of a dove,we grieve… But we trust and believe there is a place overflowing with grace Where every soul is at peace and all weeping has ceased… And when that soul looks down from above,all they see is A Legacy of LOVE.
