    Richmond McWilliams

    March 3, 1946 - April 15, 2021

Richmond McWilliams, son of the late Sterling and Cora Hunter McWilliams was born on March 3, 1946, in Halifax County, Enfield, North Carolina. He was the youngest boy out of twelve brothers and sisters, eight preceded him in death. He peacefully departed this life on April 12, 2021. Richmond was educated in Halifax County public schools in Enfield, North Carolina. Richmond known as “Boot” is what his loved ones favorably called him. He excepted Jesus Christ as his savior. Richmond was employed at Chrysler dealership where he retired. He loved working on cars, he would work on them day and night until he got it right, like he did everything he was a perfectionist. Richmond loved watching sports and old western movies. He was a great cook. He could cook almost anything, he was very clean and neat. He was very helpful anytime he accompanies you especially the ladies. He wouldn’t let you lift a finger, he was very energetic and he moved around like a young man in his twenties (smiling). Richmond also enjoyed himself a good Cuba cigar, you hardly ever seen him without one. He was a very laid-back, humble, and intelligent man. He met and married the late Shirley McWilliams who preceded him in death. From this union came his two daughters, Debbie McFadden and Darlene McWilliam, and son, Jasper McWilliams whom he loved dearly. Boot loved his family and they loved him. Richmond leaves to mourn his death: his two daughters, Debbie McFadden and Darlene McWilliams; his son, Jasper McWilliams; his son-in-law, Tyrone McFadden-Bey; four stepdaughters, Veronica Stackhouse, Danielle, Charmaine, and Carla; fifteen grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elsie Jones, Lettie Bryant, and Virginia Lynch; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
