    Penny Vanessa Johnson

    June 12, 1957 - January 3, 2022

Penny Vanessa Johnson, 64 years of age, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Monday January 3rd, 2022. She was born June 12, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Eugene George Johnson and Dolly Ruth Drafts. She was the 4th of 10 children and her brothers Kim Eugene Johnson, Dereck Tyrone Johnson, Louis George Johnson, sister Eugene Mae Blanding, husband Clabon McCullers, and nephew Jeffrey Swann preceded her in death. Penny attended Eastern High School an all-girl school in Baltimore City. After earning her General Education Diploma she would then go on to work in a Baltimore City Super Max penitentiary for several years from which she would eventually retire. Three things Penny loved more than anything in life were family, animals, and fast cars. She was an avid monetary donor to several animal rescue organizations and the proud mom to her cat “Halloween”. You could reliably find Penny speeding around town in her many sports cars of which she kept in immaculate condition. Penny loved to make you laugh with her stories, wit, and sense of humor. Penny considered herself a proud second mother to nieces, Talisha, Jaclyn, Shawntel and nephew, Justin. She harbored so much love and wisdom that she would gladly impart on anyone who was willing to listen. She cherished spending time with her grandnieces Kendall and Tashay. She was especially loved, and shared memories with family and friends. She leaves behind Step Mother Mary Johnson-Smith; Brother Howard Johnson; Sister Virginia Harrison, Stephanie Barber, Jacqueline Swann, and Alberta Godwin; Brother in-laws, Charles Harrison, Alonzo Barber, Darryl Godwin, and, Jeffrey Swann; Sister-in-law Isabella Johnson, Aunt Thelma Buckson and Uncle Charles Drafts; Nieces, Veronica, Sherronda, Tia, Taine, Talisha, Dominique, Dawnn, Mary, Jaclyn, Shawntel, and nephews, Harvey, and Justin; Cousins, Warren, Paulette, Jeffrey, Mike, Barbara, Essie and Shawn; Cat, Halloween; several grandnieces and grandnephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
