February 2, 2002 - February 3, 2022
Niyah Nock-Barrow, beloved daughter of Charltha Nock and Vincent Barrow, was born on February 2, 2002, in Baltimore, Maryland. She earned her heavenly wings at her home on February 3, 2022, in Henrico, Virginia. “Niy,” as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. Niyah was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was baptized under the pastorate of Pastor A. Lincoln James, Jr. She was a member of the Youth Choir, Praise Dance Team, and a Cheerleader for the Trinity Baptist Church basketball team. In 2013, Niyah was a participant of the Calendar Girl Extravaganza and was crowned Miss Calendar Girl for the 2014 calendar. Niyah genuinely loved God, her Church, and her Pastor. She was educated in the Henrico County Public Schools system. Starting from Kindergarten, Niyah was an “A” Honor Roll student, graduating from Glen Allen High School, with an Advanced Study Diploma. She was a participant in the 2019 Governor Equity Datathon, and a panelist on the African American Education Panel in the Commonwealth of Virginia. “Niy” attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, majoring in Nursing. Niyah loved helping others through her connection to the leadership clubs at the Shady Grove YMCA. She loved arts and crafts, cooking, and traveling. Her favorite football team was the Baltimore Ravens. Niyah also loved singing in the school chorus that allowed her to travel and sing at Busch Gardens, New York City, and Florida. Niyah followed closely with her medical care, educating herself as she, her mother, and brother traveled to conventions in Maryland, Atlanta, and Indiana. Niyah was preceded in death by her sister Bryann Nock, grandfather Clarence Nock, and 2 uncles, Lysander Nock and Roland Joseph. Niyah leaves to cherish her precious and loving memories: her devoted mother Charltha Nock, father Vincent Barrow, 2 brothers Malik Nock-Barrow and Jaden Barrow, 1 sister Nyssa Barrow.
