NATHANIEL ALTON BROWN, affectionately known as Nay, was the son of the late Richard Brown and Doretha Brown. He was born in Baltimore City on May 11, 1954. He departed this life on Sunday, February 13,2022. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He joined the U. S. Army in February 1972 and served until January 1981. Nathaniel was also known as Thaniel by his loving wife Patricia Frierson Brown. They were married June 16, 2006. Nay, as some family and friends called him, retired from the State of Maryland Highway Administration. If you rode down North Patterson Park Avenue you would often find him sitting on the front steps chilling. Nathaniel was preceded in death by his father Richard Brown, his mother Doretha Brown, his son Rico Brown, his brother Sylvester Brown, his brother Richard Brown, his mother-in-law, Jeanette Frierson, and his brother-in-law Joe Frierson. He leaves to mourn: his loving wife, Patricia Frierson Brown; his children, Nathaniel Jr. (Sierra), John, Jermaine and Naythaniel; his brother, Eugene Brown; sisters, Joan Shaw, Brenda Melvin (Charles) Barbara Coad, Doris Toller and Charlene King; ten grandchildren, Shamera Home, Naysha Brown, Daishanae Brown, Keira Brown, Kadence Brown, Davontay Brown, John Brown Jr., Jasmine Brown, Jamiara Brown and Jakiya Brown; three great-grandchildren, Michael Jones Jr., Kashtyn Ennals and Naomi Duncan; a great-grandchild due May 2022 (Dakota Marcellus Brown Williams); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
