Morris Butler, Jr. was born July 31, 1952 and departed this life suddenly on August 23, 2021. Morris, also known as “Nip” or “Juney” was the oldest of three siblings of the late Frances Odella Brown. Juney was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Baltimore City College High School in 1970. He loved baseball and played during high school. Juney joined the U.S. Army from 1974-1976 and served as Sargent. He was honorably discharged in 1976 from Fort George E. Meade, Maryland. Juney worked as a Police Officer in the Southwest district for the Baltimore City Police Department from 1980-1996. On October 18, 1998, Juney married the love of his life, Warnette Taylor-Butler who preceded him in death. He was a devoted husband and cherished spending time with “Kitty”. He spent the last several years caring for his wife during her illness until her passing in August 2020. Juney really loved the Lord. He became a Minister under the tutelage of the late Pastor James Thompson of Nazarene Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland where he delivered his trail sermon. He loved reading scriptures and sent scriptures and inspirational messages to family and friends daily. Juney leaves to mourn: his loving daughters, Tichone Butler, Janeen Butler and Shannel “Angel” Houston; his sons, Morris Butler 3rd and John “Lil Richie” Houston 3rd; grandchildren, Elizah, Nevaeh, Monique and Cameron Alexandra; his brothers, Darrell Brown, Sr (Joann), and Kevin Brown (Yolanda “Lisa”); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
