Reflection of Life Bishop Dr. Michael Wade Turner, Sr. D.Div Earthly Life: February 7, 1952 to Eternal Life: June 9, 2021 Michael’s life was a blessing. His memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. In my Father’s House are Many Mansions. Bishop Dr. Michael W. Turner, Sr. continued his journey with the Lord on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 to have eternal life. Bishop Dr. Michael W. Turner, Sr. was born in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Wade Turner and Phyllis Turner-Mack, on February 7th, 1952. Michael attended school in Roanoke, Virginia and later served twelve years in the United States Army. While in the Army, he completed his bachelor’s degree and later his Doctorate in Divinity. While in the military, he met and married Linda Burch at Bibleway Pentecostal Apostolic Church which he was a member under the late Bishop C.P. Jones. From that union his daughter Deitra Turner-Newby was conceived. Bishop Turner later married Carolyn Joiner and from this union two children were conceived, Michael W. Turner, Jr. and the late Michelle Turner. Bishop Turner accepted the Lord as his personal saviour early in life at the Rose of Sharon Holiness Church under Pastor T. R. Craig in Roanoke, Virginia. He was called in the ministry in 1976, where he ministered in West Germany and Colorado Springs. Bishop Michael Turner moved to the Richmond, Virginia area and shortly thereafter founded New Life Christian Ministries of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This ministry grew over years with supporters Elder Timothy Dunlap, Min. Vernon Monroe, Elder Earl May, and church family. Bishop Michael Turner Sr. is preceded in death by both parents, Wade Turner and Phyllis Turner Mack; two sisters Barbara Turner-Joiner and Pamela Mack-Brown. Bishop Dr. Michael W. Turner, Sr. leaves to cherish his precious memories are: daughter, Deitra Turner-Newby (Clifford Newby) and son, Michael Turner Jr.; six grandchildren; Terrell Gray, Destinee’ Gray, De’Shawn Gray, Trinity Gray, Jason Pullen II and JaSeyah Pullen; siblings, Deborah Thomas (Anthony Thomas), Shannon Keith Turner, Steven Mack, Stephanie Mack-Bond, JoAnne Mack-Carter (J. Carter), and Neil Brown; a host of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. Bishop Turner was at his best as father, son, brother, teacher and preacher, who loved to study the Word of God and share the Good News of the Gospel. Michael will be greatly missed and forever loved. May Bishop Turner remind us that when we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them,but to live with all the love they left behind, until we meet them again.
