    Maxine Bailey Henderson

    September 29, 1937 - May 4, 2021

Ms. Maxine Henderson, daughter of the late Joseph and Rebecca Bailey was born on September 29, 1937 in Henderson, North Carolina and was drawn to God’s solitude on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband Judge William Henderson; siblings Annie Russell, Margaret Cheatham, Jacqueline Bailey, and Lawrence Bailey; and loving companion Jim Epps. Maxine was the fourth of eight children born to Joseph and Rebecca Bailey. She was regarded as the family’s caregiver as she spent most of her life caring for children in her home daycare. Maxine was educated in the Vance County Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of The Mount Carmel Baptist Church until her passing. She enjoyed singing in the choir. Maxine married Judge Henderson and to that union, three children were born: Ronnie, Sherry and Sharon. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother whom adored her family to the very end. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and loved to sing and dance. Blessed to have been a part of her life and cherishing her memory are her devoted children, Ronnie Henderson Sr., Sherry Henderson-Green (Thad), and Sharon Henderson-Joyner (Ron); step-son, William Henderson; grandchildren, Ciera Henderson-Brunson (Derrell Sr.), Shanesha Henderson, Ronnie Henderson Jr., Adrian Henderson, Shakayla Henderson, Kenardra Henderson, Ryan Kempson, Chanell Braxton, Warren Braxton (Briana), and Jasmine Braxton; great grandchildren, Chyna Henderson, Diamond Brunson, De’Asia Brunson, Shamariya North, Demario North, Ja’Niyah Henderson, Derrell Brunson Jr., Ryelle Thomas, Ja’Ron Braxton, and Justus Braxton; devoted sister, Lorraine Richardson; brothers, Henry Bailey and Joseph Bailey Jr. (Margaret); daughter-in-law, Michelle Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; also a devoted friend, Ingram.
