Mary Jane Green
October 12, 1951 - September 14, 2021
Mary Jane Green, 69, ascended peacefully at home with her brother by her side on September 14, 2021. For 48 years, she was seen as the face of the MCV Campus library at VCU where she gave her time generously to all VCU students, staff, and faculty who needed research help. She retired in October 2019 and continued her hobbies of reading, shopping for herself and others, collecting recipes, enjoying good food, and keeping a well stocked refrigerator. Who could forget Mary Jane's Christmas Rumballs? Mary Jane was a '69 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and a '73 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (psychology). Once joining the staff of the medical library, where she cemented friendships with countless individuals, she inspired others to be the best they could be personally and professionally. More immediate relations on her father's side include first cousin Randolph B. Greene, Jr. (Daisy) and their children, Danielle, Randolph III and Benjamin. Included also is first cousin Linda Hassell and her children, Stephanie, Leroy Jr. and Joanna. More immediate relations on her mother's side include devoted aunts Ida LeGrande, and Hazel Williams.
