    Mary Agatha Gabbin

    June 5, 1926 - March 15, 2022

    Mary Agatha Gabbin, affectionately known by her family as “Aggie” was the eldest daughter, of four children, by Willie C. Dingle and Annie Catherine Dingle. She was born June 5, 1926 in Sumter, South Carolina and departed this life March 15, 2022. She moved with her family to Miami, Florida where she attended school until graduating from Miami Dorsey High School in 1944. She continued her education of higher learning and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Savannah State in 1948. Her schooling allowed her to show her wide variety of talents. First in Miami as a Hair Stylist, then in Savannah, Georgia working in a Cleaners. Coming to Baltimore, started her career with the Federal Government. She started with the Social Security Administration, as a Computer Keypunch Operator, and completed her career as a Specialist in the Health Insurance Administration until her retirement. She enjoyed being active and in organizations that had a purpose to help others throughout her life. She played sports in High School and College (Basketball, Track and Field, and Tennis). She enjoyed League Bowling and performing on the Marching Drill Team. Throughout her life for her churches, she would be an Usher and a member of various committees. She also loved being involved with her Masonic Family. She was a member of Electra Chapter #1 (past Worthy Matron), J. McLeay Ralph Court #5, Queen Esther Assembly #1 and Jerusalem Court #1 (past Commandress). All through her life she was faithful to the almighty God and found her place of worship at Douglas Memorial Community Church. She was a loving member for more than 60 years. She was married and widowed to Sherman Proviance, Lish Sims, and John Gabbin . She leaves to Mourn: her youngest sister Thelma Yvonne McMillian, four Nephews: Gary Dingle, Wayne Dingle, Tyrone Dingle, Derrick McMillian, a host of Cousins, Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, and lots of friends.
