A Celebration Of Life “If anyone could ever write my life story” Richly blessed and deeply loved, Marvin Jay Brooks, entered this life on august 6, 1963 in Baltimore, Maryland to his loving parents, Houston and Mildred Brooks. They molded him into the respectful, decent man he became. Marvin transitioned from his life of labor to eternal reward suddenly on March 10, 2011. “To God Be The Glory!” 'This Light of Mine, I'm Going to Let It Shine” Jay, as all his love ones and friends called him was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He graduated from Northern High School in 1981. In high school his peers and teachers missed him cutting up and showering his beautiful smile which he carried every day. Jay accepted Christ at an early age and rededicated his life to Christ in 2007. Jay loved music and dancing but mostly all types of sports and luxury cars especially that “silver corvette” his dad let him drive all the time. Jay was a very well organized person and like things to be just right. “But By His Grace” Jay was a kind and gentle man and would go out his way to do anything for everybody, all you had to do was ask and he would see to it that whatever you ask, it would get done. Jay would assist all the elders in the neighborhood. He would clear their snow and was their cars. Every life Jay touched he did it with love, faith and trust. It was out of the abundance of his heart and gave him much joy. “The Best Man I Can Be” As a child, Jay was always older than his years, very respectful to his parents and older brothers. Jay began his first job at 15 years old with the Summer Job Program through the Baltimore City School System. He was employed for 10 years at Lincoln Memorial Nursing Home. He was employed for more than 10 years with Towson ford and also employed at Sam's Club. Jay loved his children, Lakisha, Marvin and Jordan, always wishing he could give them more. He was a faithful son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin to all. Jay leaves precious memories to his devoted parents, Mildred Ludlow and Houston Brooks, Jr. extended parents, Manson H Ludlow and Vernadine Brooks; one daughter, Lakisha Brooks; two sons, Marvin Brooks, Jr. and Jordan Kai Brooks; one grand-daughter; Jada Wilson three brothers, Jeffrey, Eugene and Cameron Brooks; two sisters, Michelle Ludlow Holloway and Sonia Ludlow Whitfield; two step-sisters, Danita Haney and Deidra Trusty; tow god-sister, Sheila Holloman and Rhonda Kantuck; six nieces, Kym Horne of Raleigh, N.C. Lakeisha Bond, Laquan Jones, Mia Wise and Simone Whitfield; five nephews; Cameron Brooks of Houston, TX, Cameron III, Bryan Brown, Ryan McClatten, Jeffrey Bond, Jr.; tow uncles, Deacon William Reason, Jr. and Nathaniel Bland; five aunts; Emma Reason, Wanda Wilson, Shelby Penn, Beulah Edwards and Bernadette Brooks; a special great niece, Shi-Niyua who gave him much joy; host of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews Special cousins; Bishop Jerry M. Kelly, Dr. Brenda Kelly, Bishop Larelle Kelly and Jessy Lee and family all from Chester and Hopewell, Virginia; devoted friend, Tracey Baker and a host of friends everywhere..
