June 9, 1928 - December 27, 2021
MARGARET VIRGINIA JOHNSON (Coleman) was born June 9, 1928, to Granville and Agnes Coleman. Margaret was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools as well as St. Frances Academy. She had a lifelong passion for reading and was a devoted lifelong Catholic. She also loved to crochet and watching local and national news. She worked in several occupations throughout her life. Canning, sterilizing surgical equipment at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and as a hospice worker for Stella Maris. She especially loved the last position she retired from as a housekeeper at the rectory of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The priests and staff here became a second family to her. The two things that Margaret cherished most in her life were her faith and her family. She was proud of being a member of a large extended family and valued parenting her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a loving and caring matriarch and often sacrifced her needs for those she loved. She will always be remembered as a loving kindhearted person whose smile showed you how happy she was to see you. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Johnson, her siblings – Joseph, Paul, Richard, Gilbert, Michael, Elizabeth, Louise, Patricia, Rosemary, and her children Henry Coleman and Barbara Williams. She leaves to mourn: her sister, Catherine Jean Gray, and 69 direct descendants which includes her children, Monalisa, Elizabeth, Veronica, Paulette, Michelle, Edward, Norma, Tamara, and Suzette; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves 4 sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
