Linda Patricia Brown-Clark (Smith), daughter of the late Samuel and Irene Smith, was born on August 9,1944 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life suddenly on July 30, 2021. Linda received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools. She was employed by W.C. Pinkard, Inc. and The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where she retired as a Dietary Aid in 1999. In 1963, Linda married the late William Sylvester Brown and out of this union, three children were born: Shirley, William, and Darnell. Even though this union dissolved, Linda & Sylvester jointly raise their children. In 1974, Linda met Richard Earl Spencer and out of this union, Gaynell Spencer was born. Linda was a faithful member of Har Sinai Church (formerly Mt. Sinai Church of Christ), where she accepted Christ as her personal savior on August 8, 1979, under the late Elder Jeff Julius Johnson. While attending Mt. Sinai Church, Linda was involved in various ministries that included: The BJJ’s Mass, Carpentiers, Sanctuary, and Senior Choirs; Church Soloist and Pastor’s Aid. Because of dedicated years of service, Linda later became part of the Missionary Board and was known as Mother Clark. Linda loved going to the adult daycare called Golden Days. She played Bingo, did Arts & Crafts, and participated in Fashion Shows, where she even won Prom Queen. She also won an award for being the “Oldies but Goodies DJ” at Bolton North where she resided. Anybody who knew Ms. Linda as she was affectionately known, would agree she was a very kind, gentle, and caring person who loved God and her church. Ms. Linda loved to pray with and for her family, which meant everything to her, and it showed in the life she led. Ms. Linda was always dressed to a “T”, matching from head to toe. She loved to go to nice restaurants and her favorite place was Caroline Kitchen. Ms. Linda was also an excellent cook and made the best rice pudding and macaroni tuna salad. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Irene and Samuel Smith, her sister Shirley Smith, her daughter Shirley Smith, best friend /sister in Christ, Dena Rice and a host of other loved ones, relatives, and friends. She leaves to cherish in her memory her two sons, William Brown Sr. (Lisa) and Darnell Brown Sr.; one daughter, Gaynell Spencer (Nell); step-daughters, Darlene Griffin (Donte) and Latricia Baker (Lawrence); step-sons, Nathan Brown (Tyra) and Mondel Pope; eight grandchildren, Daniell Williams (3), Shanell Brown (3), Latera Day (4), William Brown Jr. (Quentin) (2), Devin Grimes (2), Darnell Brown Jr., Jeremiah Battle and Deashia Thompson (1); niece, Linda Smith and nephew, Derek Smith; sisters-in-laws, Brenda Melvin (Charles), Barbara Coad, Doris Toller and Charlene Brown; brothers-in-law, Nathaniel Brown and Eugene Brown; a devoted ex-daughter-in-law, Nichelle ‘Nicky” Reid (Robert) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
