Lawrence Randolph Tinson, Jr. was born on June 25, 1942 to the late Mary Catherine Drake and the late Lawrence Randolph Tinson, Sr. Lawrence, known to this family and friends as “Butch” and his wife’s pet name “Butchie”, transitioned from this life on December 24, 2021 in the 6 o’clock hour. Butch attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and furthered his education at RETS Electronic School by graduating with two certification licenses as an Electronic Technician. He loved to fix and repair all types of electronic equipment. He was extremely outgoing and gregarious and was the life of any party. Butch loved his wife, family, and friends. Butch just loved people, always extending his hospitality and seeking to assist or support anyone without being asked. A favorite hobby of his was drawing; it was a real gift and pleasure for him to see the outcome of his works. In addition, he loved listening to music and always ensured he watched the news channels to stay abreast of what was happening around him. When Butch was around, you could ensure the atmosphere was lively & welcoming! Butch was just an all around great guy, father, uncle, brother, cousin, son, and especially a husband. He will sincerely be missed. He leaves to mourn his wife, Roxie Tinson of 55 years; two daughters, April Tinson and Valerie Tinson-Savage; one son, Paul Tinson, Sr., (who preceded him in death); 1 grandson, Paul Tinson, Jr.; 2 great grandsons, Jaycian and Nolan Tinson; two sisters, Arletta Garnett and Phyllis Wigfall; four sisters-in-law, Marie Wells, Pauline, Sarah, and Rebecca Abron, two brothers-in-law, Timothy Abron and Fred Williams; a son-in-law, Troy Savage; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
