Larry G. Petty Jr.

Larry Grachette Petty, Jr., was born May 21, 1986, to Delphene Buie and Larry Petty Sr. in Sanford, NC. He departed this life unexpectedly on September 17, 2011. Larry received his education in the Anne Arundel County Public School System, where he went to Ft. Meade Senior High. As a freshman at Meade, Virginia Tech wanted to recruit him for his extraordinary stature and football skills. He also received the “Who’s Among High School Students of American” being chosen to be on the Young leaders of American board in Washington DC, Larry completed his high school education at North County High School. Larry gave his life to Christ at an early age, he was baptized by Dr. Lunn in 1994. Within the least three years, Larry was practicing the Muslin religion. Larry was employed by Labor Finders, and until his premature death, he was a Security Guard at Brooklyn Inn. Larry was always known for his comic relief. If he was not making others laugh, he was helping someone. There was never a person he met that if they did not have, he was always making sure they had something to eat, he would either buy it for them or take them home for a hot meal. He always wanted to be a mentor for the youth. Larry loved life and his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ora Blue and Delphuse Brooks; three Great-Aunts, Dorothy Morris, Rudy, and Law Sue; one Aunt, Gwen Buie; one sister, Carmolita Petty; one Cousin, Shawntavion Barnes. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Candeance Petty; three sons, Willie, Antonio, and Tylique; two daughters, Shia, and Serai; mother Delphene Buie-Bailey; father, Larry Petty Sr.; Godfather, Terry Williams (Daddy); grandparents, William and Maxine Petty; five Sisters, Sharon, and Teresa Holley, Philicity Minter, Kayla Petty, and Shirley Smith; two Brothers, Sterling Petty, and Stevie Williams; four Aunts, Cassandra Buie, Katrina Minter, and Tylnthia and Nekeshia Petty; four uncles, Kenneth and Eric Buie, Jeffery Brooks, and Jeffery Petty; Three Nephews, DalShawn, Gavin, and Machikas; three nieces, Ashley, Gabrielle, and Shaquan; two God brothers, Nicholas Hines and Bernard Turner; Girlfriend, Deidre Bowman; Special life long friend, Selina Washington; special friends, Suzette, Tasha, Tyeka, Senneille, Keir, Rod, Ty, and HB; and a host of other relatives and special friends.
