    Joyce Lewis Williams

    April 26, 1947 - June 24, 2021

    Joyce Lewis Williams, born on April 26, 1947, in Brunswick County, VA, to the late Allen M. Lewis, Sr. and Hannah P. Lewis. She is proceeded in death by both parents and her brother,Allen M. Lewis, Jr. On Thursday, June 24, 2021, surrounded by her family, Joyce was called into eternal rest. Sister Williams a graduate of the Class of '66 from James S. Russell High School in Lawrenceville, VA. Upon graduating, she relocated to Richmond, VA, where she began her career with Verizon and continued until her retirement. Sister Williams joined the Great Hope Baptist Chnrch, where she remained a devoted member until her passing. She en­ joyed serving her chnrch and held positions on several minis­tries to include the Finance Ministry, Hospitality Ministry, Pas­toral Concerns, and served as secretary of the Forever Young Seniors' Ministry. Joyce also enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, watching cooking shows, and loved to travel. She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband of 26 years, Kenneth L. Williams, Sr.; two daughters, Cynthia R. Ben­ ford, Tamara (Roger) Moss, and one son, Kenneth L. Williams, Jr; four grandchildren, Saisha Benford, Benjamin Benford Jr., Al-Teriq R.. Dudley, and Kourtney Williams-Moss; one great­ grandchild, Marquis Benford; three sisters, Deloris Tyler, Maggie Williams (Harry) of Dolphin, VA, Sylvia Jones (Rev. Horace) of South Chesterfield, VA, and one brother, Charles E. Lewis (Teretha Anderson) of Petersbnrg, VA.; a host of nieces, neph­ews, and other relatives and friends.
