    Janice Shirley Bright

    November 17, 1950 - March 22, 2022

    Janice Shirley Bright departed this life for her promise of home and glory with God on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Janice was the third of five children. She was born on November the 17, 1950, at University Hospital of Maryland to the late Julian Bright and Shirley Bright. Janice received her formal education in Baltimore City Public School System. She attended Francis Scott Elementary and went on to attend Houston Woods Sr. High School. Janice then attended The Community College of Baltimore to purse a business degree and later began a course at The Women Entrepreneur Business School in Baltimore and this is where she received her Diploma in Entrepreneurship. Janice loved the idea of owning her own small business one day as she loved to craft and collect things to make jewelry boxes. She later began employment with the State of Maryland's Comptroller's Office as an Income Tax Specialist. She enjoyed her job and later retired from the agency. Janice attended Saint Peter Catholic Church in Baltimore, MD in her early years. Later she became a Christian walk and was baptized at Southern Baptist Church, and loved serving God. She loved going out to eat at her favorite restaurant and doing some serious shopping after. Her life was spent being there for others and seeing them happy. Janice was family oriented and loved family picnics and outings with her siblings Valerie and Vernon. She her later life caring for her grandchildren Chaisten and Chauncey. She also had God children who she enjoyed being around when she could. Janice loved life and had so many plans for it. Janice had a humorous side and liked to joke around and cut up with her closest friends; however, she was humble. She was meek, nurturing, and a true friend to all that had the pleasure to befriend her. Janice leaves to continue in her legacy, her daughter, Sherah Bright, grandchildren, Chauncey, Chaisten, and Charles. Her sister, Valerie Bright.. Her nieces and nephews, Malaika, Vanessa, Sherie, Vernon Jr., Marcus, and Ashley. Great nieces, Kourtney and Korae. Cousins, Sheila, Delisha and Teairah. And a host of other family and friends including the Sweet Soul Sister Neighborhood Sorority.
