James A. Hyman, III

JAMES HYMAN III was born on May 25, 1988 to James Hyman Jr. and the late Janice Burns in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life peacefully on December 29, 2021. James was raised in a Lutheran home and attended the St. Phillip’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at an early age. He received his education through the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Patterson High School. He was employed by Spring Groove Hospital as a Dietary Aid until he became disabled. James was affectionately known to his family and friends as “Turtle”. He married Shannon Duckett and together they enjoyed spending time with family and close friends. James was a devoted husband and uncle, best known for his smile and willingness to help others. James was loved and admired by his family and friends for his generosity and kindness. James had a charismatic personality everyone loved. He enjoyed life and the dedicated time he spent with Ka’nia and Milan. James leaves to cherish wonderful memories: his wife, Shannon Hyman; father, James Hyman Jr.; grandmother, Yvonne Hyman; brother, Jeremiah Hyman; sisters, Tinika Barwick, Kia Barksdale and Keisha Barksdale; brother-in-law, Michael Barwick; nephews, Jaheem Lewis, Andre Miller, Rashad Sherman and Derek Brogden; nieces, Ka’nia Robinson and Milan Jeffers; two great-nephews, a great-niece, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his mother, Janice; grandfathers, James Sr. and Raymond; and grandmother, Beatrice.
