Legacy of Life “When you’ve done everything you can do, that’s when GOD will step in and do what you can’t do.” 2 Corinthians 12:10 When God calls one of his most blessed angels’ home the heavens and angels rejoice. Our beloved Jacqueline Ruth Johnson, 64, departed this life on January 9, 2022, the second child to the late James Sr. and Ruth Johnson. “Jackie” as she was affectionately known, was educated in the Richmond Public School system and she graduated from John Marshall High School in 1977. She furthered her education by attending the Richmond College. There she studied Secretarial Science courses. She accepted Christ at an early age, but in her later years became a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Jackie worked in housekeeping for several years at MCV Hospital before retiring early due to her health. Jackie loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an instrumental part of their formative years. She also loved listening to music, drinking a cold pepsi, snacks (like her late mother), and going to the casino (Maryland Live to be exact) with her fiancé George. One thing you could count on from Jackie was if she was at a cookout, she was sure to be the first to pack her plate and come ready with her plate and Reynolds wrap already in hand. Jackie leaves to cherish her memory a beloved son, Michael Johnson (Demita); 3 granddaughters, Mikeia, Nakhia, and Makendra Johnson; 3 sisters, Gloria Broidy, Vivian Johnson, and Emily Moore; 3 brothers, James Jr., Wilbert Sr. and Godfrey Johnson (Monica); her fiancé, George Jeter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, acquaintances, and most recently the residents and staff of Manor Care where Jackie spent the last few months of her life. Good Night God has called Jackie home to be with her mom and dad around his throne, He saw her heart was getting heavy and slowing down So he took her hand and gave her her crown She is now resting in his light So don’t say goodbye, but say good night Written by her brother Godfrey Johnson
