Ida R. Smith

Ida Renea Smith “we refer to her as “Renea” was born on July 17, 1960 to the late Junius Wallace Smith, Jr. and the late Rosa Lee Smith. “Renea” had been suffering with health issues for a while now. Renea fought a good fight. On Sunday morning April 30, 2023 at 6:04 a.m. God reached for her hand and carried her home to glory. Renea received her education from the Baltimore City Public School System. Renea worked a few jobs in Baltimore City. Her last job was M.R. Hopkins Transportation as a school bus attendant, prior to having her children. When Renea began having children she became a stay at home mom. Renea had 8 children she absolutely adored. Having to be a single mom wasn’t easy for Renea, she stood the test of time doing the best she could. Renea’s family whom loved her and her children didn’t mind helping her out when needed. We all knew “It takes a village”. Renea loved spending time with her family and friends, cookouts, parties, holiday’s and special occasions. She loved laughing, joking, talking trash, going down memory lane and reminiscing about the good ole days. She really loved dressing up every day, matching everything from the bottom of her feet to the top of her head. Boy did she love jewelry (gold and more gold)? She loved shopping, watching movies and listening to good music. Renea was also an entrepreneur. She made a way out of no way. Renea was preceded in death by her father, Junius Wallace Smith, Jr. and mother, Rosalee Smith; her son, Derrick Kent Franklin; and brothers, Junius Kevin Smith, Sr., and Tyrone Smith. Renea leaves to cherish her memories: Darryl Moore (Ebony) son/daughter-in-law, Donnell Smith (Shaniece), son/daughter-in-law, Brittney Norman (daughter), Kevin Bell (son), Devin and Daris Bell (sons) and D’Andre Bell (son); grandchildren, Kyra Monet Franklin, Brielle Scott, Ziyon Harris, Darryl C. Moore, Darryn Moore; sisters, Janice Denise Smith, and Patricia Diane Smith; aunts, Yvonne Melvin, Mattie Harris, and Lula B. Harris; uncles, Thomas Heath, Jr. (Roxanne) and John Heath; nieces, Shanelle T. Williams (Kenneth), Sheena J. Smith, Jennifer N. Johnson, and Jamyra Johnson; nephew, Rodney Weldon, Jr. (Taneka); cousins, Joyce Heath, Ronnie Johnson, JoAnn Frazier, Joseph Johnson, Jr., Yvette Melvin, Anton Mayo, Lacy Melvin, Robin Flemings; God-sister, Judy Belton; Chosen Sista, Wanda Valentine BKA “Pinkey”; and a host of grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, friends and family.
