Ida Murrell Hubbard
November 21, 1933 - August 15, 2021
Legacy of Life Ida Murrell Hubbard was born on November 21, 1933 in Low Moor, Virginia, the youngest daughter of Lee and Emily Murrell. At the age of 12 she moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she attended Public School 25 and Franklin K. Lane High School. Ida worked in the banking industry for the Marine Midland Bank and Westminster Bank from where she retired from. She eventually met and married the love of her life, Leonard Hubbard on August 10, 1985 and moved to Richmond, Virginia to enjoy their retirement. They both were active members of the Saint Paul’s Baptist Church where they enjoyed the many friendships. Ida enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially if it involved shopping. She had a way of connecting with others with her quiet demeanor and wit. Ida would occasionally catch you off guard with her humorous comments. Her beautiful smile and lovely spirit will surely be missed, but she left behind a legacy of love to sustain us until we meet again. In addition to her husband Leonard, Ida was preceded in death by her sisters Juanita Murrell and Lucinda Danzey. She is survived by her daughters Diana Hunter (James), Gwendolyn Miles, Cheryl Hasell and son, Dan Nolan (Carla). Ida was blessed to have 11 adored grandchildren, 13 beloved great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Forever in my Heart For all you were to me in life and all the joy you brought, your memory is with me in every single thought. The pain I felt at losing you will never go away, But knowing that you’re in my heart helps me through each day. When you were here I always felt that nothing could go wrong, But you’re still my inspiration and your memory keeps me strong. And though my heart is heavy, it’s full of love and that’s enough to comfort me while you’re in Heaven up above.
