Legacy of Life "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6 On Saturday, February 27, 2021, our beloved Glenda Delores Williams DePriest, 71, gained her wings to the the pearly gates of Heaven. Glenda was born in Richmond, Virginia on February 16, 1950 to Alberta Williams and Maurice Griffin. Glenda was raised in historic Church Hill where she resided in Mosby Court. She was affectionately known as "PeeWee" by family and friends. Glenda was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. There she received her spiritual blessings and enjoyed attending services. For many years she worked for M & B Hardware as a seamstress for many years of dedicated service. Glenda retired once they decided to close their business. Glenda was a mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and a loving spouse. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were an extension of her heartbeat. She truly loved her life-partner/companion Throne, better known as "Pete" of more than 40 years. PeeWee's favorite past-time was fishing and socializing with family. She had a heart of gold and was always putting the needs of others before her own. Anyone who knew her would say she was one of a kind. She was a feisty one who took no mess. Sometimes she could be a little stubborn at times, but would always stand firm with her beliefs. She listened to you and would then love to give her advise. Such a gentle giant, she was. Throughout her lifetime she made many friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved her as the special lady she was. She was preceded in death by her four siblings, Charles Williams, Sandra Aldridge, Phyllis Williams and Joanne Williams. Glenda leaves cherished memories to her daughter, Debra DePriest (Gregory Anderson); two grandchildren, Jamel and Demonte DePriest; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Brown, Jaylan DePriest, Jeremiah DePriest and Ja'King DePriest; sister, Sheila Sumler-Henry; devoted Throne Gladden, and a host of other relatives and caring friends. She fought and put up a good fight. Hugs and Kisses! Eternal Love, your daughter
