    Gladys Owens Dungee

    June 26, 1929 - April 28, 2021

    IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, PLEASE MAKE DONATIONS IN THE NAME OF GLADYS DUNGEE TO: TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 3200 WALBROOK AVENUE BALTIMORE, MARYLAND 21216 Gladys Rose Owens Dungee was born on June 26, 1929 in Union Springs, Al. to John G. and Mattie B. (Bickerstaff) Owens. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 28 at home surrounded by family. Gladys left Union Springs at an early age to reside in Akron , Ohio and then Harlem, NY where she met and married the late Thomas E. Dungee, Jr. They settled down in Baltimore, Maryland where they had five children. She was a dedicated mother who loved to cook and was known for her macaroni and cheese. She enjoyed playing Bridge for many years and was a huge Ravens and Orioles fan. Gladys Owens Dungee (G.O.D.) loved her initials and always used them to remind us who was in charge! She worked for Baltimore City Housing Authority and the Circuit Court and retired from the marriage and licensing department. She absolutely loved to officiate marriage ceremonies. A dedicated member of Trinity Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and volunteer in the food pantry. Gladys was one of eight children and is survived by the eldest , Alfonza Owens of Harlem, NY and the youngest , Elizabeth Loving of Chicago, Ill. To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her children, Deborah , Thomas (Lenora), Leslie and Lisa. A granddaughter, Shanay Dungee-Dada (Seun) and grandson, Thomas "Sonny" Dungee IV, In-laws, Alice Dungee Smith and Wilcis Dungee(Alberta) and a host of nieces and nephews.
