George Sheppard Sr.

February 14, 1951 - January 16, 2022

George G. Sheppard Sr.. was born on February 14, 1951 to the late George Earl and Hilda Sheppard. He departed this life on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the Loch Raven VA Medical Center. George attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School where he later returned to teach as a substitute teacher. George is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served honorably from (1969-1975) in the Army, achieving the rank of US Army specialist/E-4 where he earned the Purple Heart Medals. George’s experience in the Army played a very important role in life. He frequently pointed out that the Army taught him the value of discipline, teamwork, and investing in a cause larger than himself. George is preceded in death by one daughter; Arlene Sheppard, one grandson; George Lewis Jr, and three brothers; Earl Muhammad, Samuel Sheppard , and Dale Sheppard. George leaves to cherish his memory; One special friend of 31 years; Dianne Luebke’ Dresen, one daughter; Juanita Smith, and four sons; Daryl, George, David Lewis. And George Shepard Jr., three daughters-in-law; Tonya Sheppard, Patsy Lewis, Deirdre Martin and one son-in-law; Gregory Smith, Sr two sisters Ann Contee, and Juanita Mallory one brother Gregory Sheppard and ten grandchildren; La’Chae, Sade, and Kayla Sheppard, Chazmin, Jasmin Dezmin and LaQuasha Lewis Gregory Jr Jonathan , and Jasmine Smith and host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
