Florence Daye

FLORENCE CASSANDRA DAYE was born in Camden, New Jersey on May 1, 1945 to the late Arnold and Helen Elizabeth Smith. She departed this life Thursday, February 17, 2022. Florence was educated in Camden, New Jersey. She served in the U.S. Navy. She was employed as a central office technician for Verizon for 40 years. Florence was a Christian and loved the LORD. She was a member of Bethel and Trinity A.M.E. Churches. Florence was very well known. She was a member of the grandparents group. She was a member of the food bank which she shared with neighbors and strangers. She had a short modeling career with Alvin White. Through her mother, Florence had a love of traveling. She was a contributor to many charities. She loved soap operas and James Bond movies. She also loved Bar-B-Que spareribs and was an avid reader. Florence is preceded in death by her death by her son, Cedric Daye; her brother, Arnold Smith; and her special friend, Marcellus Hall. Florence leaves to cherish her memory: two brothers, Karl Smith and Abdul Aziz Faruk; four grandchildren, Floyd Hall, Auyah, Joshua and Lyandra Daye; special friends, Gloria Craig,Diane Carter and Vanassa Jones; niece, Jackie; and a host of other relatives and friends.
