Ernestine M. Johnson
February 4, 1947 - November 9, 2021
ERNESTINE MARIE JOHNSON was born on February 4, 1947 in the City of Baltimore. She was laid to rest on November 9, 2021. She received her education at the Baltimore City Public School System at Southern High School. She retired from Carr-Lowery Glass Company, then Ernestine chose to go back to work and retired again from Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, MD. Ernestine enjoyed dressing up and looking her best. Though she loved every color of the rainbow, she rocked red like the "Queen" that she was, always enjoying the compliments that continually flowed while wearing it. Ernestine was outspoken and held no punches. Whenever she spoke, it was straight and a matter-of-fact. Ernestine has one son, Lamont T. Bannister Jr. whom she called "Binkey." She loved her parents Ernest and Dorothy Johnson, and enjoyed her family time. She was an avid dog lover and loved her "Buster" to no end. Everyone who knew her knew that she stayed with Salems, crabs and Pepsi. She enjoyed cooking, and shopping especially. She was always ready to burn up New York City and any Flea Market with her long time friend Miss Mary. Enjoying the simple things in life, sums up her character, as described in her beloved scripture Ecclesiates 5:18-20 NIV. Her mother and father Ernest Sr. and Dorothy Johnson, and her brother Ernest A. Johnson, Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by: her son, Lamont T. Bannister Jr.; sister Darlene Johnson: grandsons, Lamont T. Bannister III, Brandon M. Bannister and Marquise D. Bannister; niece, Jessica A. Woods; great-grandchildren, Neriah C. Bannister, Maddox Bannister and Greyson Bannister; special friends, Lamont T. Bannister Sr., Sandra J. Kendell, Nicole Lipscomb and Mariel C. Guerra; and a host of other relatives and friends.
