The righteous perish and no one ponders it in his heart, devout men are taken away and no one understands that the righteous are taken to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace: they find rest as they lie in death. Isaiah 57:1-2 “God is my protector and all and all.” Dwayne Edward Smith was born June 14, 1981 to Annette Smith and the late Wayne Washington in Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Melvin Smith. He attended Huguenot High School and furthered his education at John Tyler Community College with a degree in Engineering. He formally worked for UPS for one year and also Huguenot High School in the maintenance department. Dwayne was loved by all people. He would lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. He was a author, son, brother, god-father, uncle and companion that adored his family. Dwayne was a very family oriented person. He also published his first book “Concrete Rose” in 2019; a book of life lessons, emotions and struggles. He kept a positive outlook on life and wouldn’t dwell on any setbacks and downfalls. He kept his faith in God and will forever be in our hearts. He was a warm-hearted, loving and caring person. Those who knew Dwayne, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. He had an energy that even just one encounter with him, you would remember him for life. We reminisce about his contagious smile, the sheer pleasure of his company, how good he made others feel and how much we will miss him. He leaves to cherish loving memories to his caring mother, Annette Smith; loving sister, Constance Russell; two adored grandmothers, Mable Marie Smith and Susie Stuart; beloved grandfather, James Bonner; two nieces, CoMya Smith and Bailey Smith; two nephews, Jaquan Smith and Corey Russell; great-niece, Dr. Nova Roberts; god-mother, Sharmor Boyd; god-son, Malachi S. Manuel and life-long friend, Alexis Faulkner; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
