    Doris A. Evans

    December 3, 1947 - June 19, 2021

    Doris Ann Evans was born to the late Sarah and Lorenzo Hill on December 3, 1947 and transitioned into eternal on June 19, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Doris affectionately known as "Auntie" by her family. Doris received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Douglass Senior High School in 1965. Doris was employed and retired from Unilever as a factory worker. Doris met and married the love of her life John Calvin Evan Jr. in 1969, who preceded her in death. From that union two sons were born John Calvin Evans III and Darryl Anthony Evans Sr. Doris loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior Lord and King early in her life. She was a devoted member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church serving on the Missionary Ministry. John 3:16 was her favorite scripture. Doris loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed feeding people, serving at her church, watching gospel network, he game shows and soap operas. Doris had a passion for snoooping aka thrift shopping and cooking. Her signature dishes were potato salad, candied yams and rice pudding. A devoted grandmother who always spent time with her grand kids and great-grand kids. Doris had a twin name Vivian Hill who proceeded her in death. They were inseparable! Doris made sure her sister didn't need or want for anything up until the day of her death. Doris was proceeded in death by her siblings Edward "Sunny", John C. "Boojam", Hattie, William "Calvin", Archie, Charles Hill, and Phyllis Dix. Doris leaves to cherish her memories two sons John Calvin Evans III and Darryl Anthony Evans Sr., one daughter-in-law Tamika Evans, two sisters Naomi Hannah (Earl) and Roberta Purvis (Marvin) two sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Hill #1, and Barbara "Boobie" Hill, four grand kids Darryl Evans Jr., Ashley (Sidney) Thomas, John Calvin Evans IV and Jewelle Evans, four great-grand kids Laniera & La'Niyah Evans, Legend & Legacy Thomas and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Three special friends Yvonne Joyner, Helen, and Emily Gee.
