CYNTHIA DIANN CAPLE-CHANCE, affectionately known as Di, was born July 3, 1960 to the late James and Rematha Caple. She was called to eternal rest on April 24, 2022 at Future Care Coldspring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with her illness. Di was baptized at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Baltimore City Public Schools from which she received her high school diploma in 1979. She attended the Medix School and received a degree as a Certified Medical Assistant. She started doing her life’s work at Kernan Rehabilitation Center and worked there for more than 25 years. She was forced to retire in 2007 after falling ill. Di met and later married Alfonzo Chance on April 21, 1984. From this union two children were born. Di loved to party, loved her family and enjoyed grilling for family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 38 years, Alfonzo Chance; stepdaughter, Phadrea Lawrence; daughter, Tanisha Lynn Chance; son, Alfonzo Chance Jr. (Chanel); grandson, Jessie Holley Jr.; sister, Francine Caple-Ford (Roscoe); two brothers, Darren Woodland (Regretta) and James Caple III who proceeded her in death; two goddaughters, Latonya Tucker and Taiwan Carter; two special and devoted cousins, Argentina Tucker and Frederick Alston; and very special nephew, Tavon Caple who was like a son; two uncles, Jasper Carter (Brenda) of North Carolina and Leroy Carter (Judy) of Baltimore, Maryland; four aunts, Oazie Alston, Gloria Edwards (Marion) and Virginia Carter of Baltimore, Maryland, and Sylvia Carter of North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
