Constance Holt Christian Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Constance “Connie” Holt Christian was born March 25, 1956, to the union of Curtis Holt, Sr. and Alto Mae Holt, in Richmond, VA. Connie received her formal education in the Richmond City Public School system and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1974. She attended the Upward Bound program at Virginia Union University while still in high school where she made many lifelong friends. She met Tony Christian while in high school and they married in 1983. To this union were born three children - Jermaine, Angela, and Tyrone. She attended J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College shortly after graduating from high school. Connie’s employment career spanned the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles in Richmond, VA, George Washington University and MedStar Health in Washington, D.C. Connie accepted Christ at a young age and spent a lot of her childhood at Fourth Baptist Church and Cedar Street Baptist Church where her father was an associate pastor. She loved her family and friends unconditionally, never turning her back on anyone in need. She was a faithful friend that everyone could count on, always putting her family first, even if it meant putting herself last. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and cherished family gatherings, especially major holidays, and looked forward to cooking anytime for a house full of company. Her favorite foods were Katydids, Jamaican food and some good fried chicken, and she loved hosting summer cookouts, eating crabs and playing cards. No cookout was complete without children running around having fun and Reggae and Go-Go music playing in the background, which she loved listening to. Connie was an avid concert goer in her early years and didn’t miss too many Reggae concerts because they were forever on her radar. Constance H. Christian departed this life on Sunday, July 3, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis Holt, Sr. and Alto Mae Holt, and siblings Valerie Holt-Crawford, and Sir Walter Valentino Holt. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jermaine (Monique) Christian, Angela Christian, and Tyrone Christian; one brother, Curtis (Cherie) Holt, Jr.; one aunt, Lucy B. Cherry, one uncle, Alexander Burton, Sr.; grandchildren, Carlisia Calixte, Zachary Calixte, Keyaan Christian and Aaliyah Christian; a very special niece/daughter, Danielle Crawford; cousins Alexander “Buddy” Burton, Jr. and Robinette Burton; a very close cousin, Kathy “Sissy” Page; and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. Connie will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. We thank God for the times we got to share with her. Sure, we wish we could have had more time with her because there was so much more she wanted to experience on her journey, but we know God welcomed her home with open arms telling her, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
