Charles Daryll Lazenby
August 4, 1955 - June 14, 2021
Don’t Cry For Me Don’t cry for me, I will be okay. Heaven is my home now, and this is where I’ll stay. Don’t cry for me, I’m where I belong. I want you to be happy and try to stay strong. Don’t cry for me, it was just my time. But I will see you someday on the other side. Don’t cry for me, I am not alone. The angels are with me to welcome me home. Don’t cry for me, for I have no fear. All my pain is gone, and Jesus took my tears. Don’t cry for me, this is not the end. I’ll be waiting here for you, when we meet again. Charles Daryll Lazanby was born August 4, 1955 to Charles Henry Lazenby and Dorothy C. Lazenby in Fort Lee, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Charles received his formal education and graduated from Highland Springs High School, Class of 1973. He was employed by Waste Management for over 20 years as a CDL Truck Driver and later retired in August 2020. In earlier days he was a local DJ by the name of “Disco Heavy”, and a mechanic by trade. Charles was a Christian and a God fearing man that was a warm-hearted, loving and caring person. Those who knew Charles, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. He had an energy that even just one encounter with him, you would remember him for life. We reminisce about his contagious smile, the sheer pleasure of his company, how good he made others feel and how much we will miss him. He leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Lakeisha Lazenby; four grandchildren, Aaleya, Zykerria, Promise, and Psalms; sister, Sherrette Lazenby-Mendez (Everton), Tonya Lazenby-Jackson (Kelvin); nieces and nephews, Khari, Calvin Jr., Darien, Sydni, Kayla, Elijah, Zoie and Johnathan; a devoted friend, Joanne Harris, and a host of other relatives and friends.
