Bruce David Cooper Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

BRUCE DAVID COOPER, also known as "Brucie" and "Coop", was born on September 6, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the so of the late Leonard Nathaniel and Helen Geneva (Jones) Cooper. He departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at his home. Bruce received his formal education through the Baltimore City Public School System. After school, he went on to accomplish great things! He met his wife Loretta Smith and later married in her parents home on Calhoun Street. Bruce and Loretta had celebrated 55 years together in 2016. They had a special and unbreakable bond. Bruce had six children: Patricia, Bruce Jr., Kim, Barry, Tammy and Brittany. Bruce retired as a Lead Foreman from the Bethlehem Steel Sparrows Point Railroad Company. He received numerous gifts and recognition for his outstanding service on the job. He was hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family. He and his wife hosted some of the best cook outs and parties! He also enjoyed visiting family in Calvert County. In addition, he loved playing pool with his brothers and friends (in Sandtown), going to the Gun Range at the Continental Arms and being on his yacht; Captain Cooper was a proud member of the Pleasant Yacht Club in Sparrows Point. He also loved doing home improvement projects and driving his Cadillacs! Bruce was a well-loved and respected man who enjoyed life to the fullest. - He will be sincerely missed by his loved ones! Bruce leaves to cherish his memories, has children: Patricia, Bruce Jr., Kim, Barry, Tammy and Brittany; fourteen grandchildren: Angie, Jeannine, David, Shakeia, Maurice, Shennell, Dorian, Akilah, Naja, Kimen, Amerah, Dahlia, Landon and Brayden; ten great-grandchildren, four sisters: Bernadine, Carolyn, Barbara and Sandra; one brother: Edwin; one brother-in-law: John Morris Smith; one sister-in-law: Edith Smith and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Loretta Cooper whom he missed dearly.
