Betty Ann Elizabeth Logan

On Tuesday, November 20, 1945, in Baltimore Maryland, the Lord blessed the late Bernard and late Laura Sivells with the first of fifteen children, Betty Ann Sivells. Betty received her early and formal education in the Baltimore City Public School system graduating from Dunbar High School in 1963. Betty began her professional career of nursing in 1963 at Keswick Nursing Home formally known as the ‘Home for the Incurable.’ She spent a long period of her career at Church Home Hospital. While working at Church Home Hospital, Betty also served as a Community Home Nurse. After the closing of Church Home Hospital, Betty continued her career at Good Samaritan Hospital until retirement. While working at Keswick Nursing Home in 1963, Betty met the love of her life William Harrison Logan, Jr. On March 12, 1967, they were married in holy matrimony. From this union there was a bundle of love and joy, their daughter, Manetta Denise Logan. At a young age, Betty denounced her love and servitude for the Lord. Her faithful and Christian walk began in 1969. She worshipped at St. Francis Church, later moving to St. Ann’s Church and in 1971 joining and faithfully serving until her health failed at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church-Govans. Betty enjoyed reading scriptures on Saturday’s Mass. Betty committed her life to serving the Lord and in addition to introducing the Lord to her child and grandchildren, was very instrumental in introducing her siblings to the Lord. Betty was known for her nurturing and matriarchal from all who knew her. She was very family-oriented and would do all she could to help you out. Her mannerisms and concern became a model as her actions spoke louder than words. One could reminisce about the joy Betty had in taking her mother to the market and shopping. Betty enjoyed and loved cooking and caring for all her siblings from infant into adulthood. Mattie Sivells, William Sivells, Robert Sivells, Anthony Sivells, and Harry Sivells, siblings of Betty, preceded her to their heavenly home did not go without her nurturing and love. In addition to nurturing, sheltering, supporting and loving, Betty loved house plants and home decorating. She loved to collect and display her elegance with knick-knacks and ornaments. Betty loved being with family and friends. She loved to take day trips and long trips with family. In 2010, Betty joined the ‘Red Hatters’ clubs of which they had events, or trips twice a month. Betty currently served as the ‘Vice Queen’ of her chapter of the ‘Red Hatters.’ Betty’s love, joy and nurturing would not be pinnacle without the allusion of Laniya and Darrell Logan, her grandchildren. They placed a special spark in her eyes that could not be matched. A few months ago, Betty was challenged with her health. As she adhered to what the doctors said, she never lost her faith. She would attend to what was suggested. As time passed, her natural began to decrease and her spirit would be strengthened. As she looked into your eyes, she would extend her love and receive yours in return. Then one day she heard her name being called and saw a hand extended. On October 8, 2023, she said my earthly time is done and quietly went away. Betty will be immensely missed, and the love will be treasured by her husband, William H.
