    Annie C. Ransom

    October 27, 1939 - April 27, 2021

ANNIE CHRISTINE RANSOM, daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Mattie L. Foster, the oldest of nine, was born on October 27, 1939 in Greensville County, Emporia, VA. She departed this life on April 27, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She received her education in Emporia, VA until she came to Baltimore at the age of 15. She completed the GED, at which time she started working for Equitable Bank. She was employed with the bank as it transitioned to Maryland National, Nations Bank, and Bank of America. After 35 years of service, she decided to retire as a bank manager. She worshipped at Greater Remnant COGIC under the leadership of the late Bishop David Spann, Sr. In December 1960, she married William A. Ransom and from this union there were four children, Dischelle (preceded her in death), James, William II (preceded her in death) and Lois (Missy). Chris or “Tean”, as she was affectionately called, made numerous friends and associates throughout her years of banking. She was a caring and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and most of all grandmother. She will be truly missed by everyone who crossed her path. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, James Thomas; her daughter, Lois Heflin; two sons-in-law, Frank Britto and Thomas Heflin Jr.; ten grandchildren, Donte, Cedric, Stephanie, Pierre, Zucuria, Zachary, Sabrina, Tariq (Tracie), Tyson, Tristan; six great-grandchildren, Makai, Kayvonna, Tyler, Noah, Navahya and Karlei’Jay; three brothers, George, Kelvin and Arnold; two sisters, Valerie and Birdie; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend
